Just had to tell you about my new addition, he is a replacement for the same type of lizard that I lost after a very short time (3 weeks) :( RIP

Meet Spike a uromastyx also known as a spiny-tail or egyptian dab lizard.
Weighs in at 42 grams and already eaten a huge bowl of salad.
Been here 4hours and already Lord of the Manor. :D

He looks amazing, but he's got a real pose there :)

Thought I would update on Spike the uromastyx lizard.
He's been here 4 weeks now and is going from strength to strength.
Being a desert dweller he needs a lot of UV lighting so I increased it by putting 2 extra lamps in there.
I must have done something right because he has put an enormous amount of weight on.
Weighed 42 grams on arrival and last Saturday managed to weigh him again. He now clocks up 75 grams thats a 33 grm increase in 4 weeks...almost unheard of before.
Anyway here he is again.

Beautiful!!! My son would just love him.

(I thought it was bad when my son grows like that in the summer. I keep looking for the brick to put on top of head to slow him down 8) . Of course, I wouldn't do that, but it sure is tempting when I have to buy 2 different sizes in 1 MONTH!!!)

Brightest Blessings!
