Samhain time

Postby Dethas on Thu Sep 20, 2007 12:29 am

This Halloween will see the completion of my year and a day study so is especially important to me.
However, my household is not Pagan at all even though they support me.

I'm looking for a way to mark the day that we all could do, and something that I could do individually, to make the day extra special. However, 'my' thing can't take very long.

Any help, ideas, suggestions would be gratefully accepted.

Well I tend to be a little traditional myself and see it as the blood harvest. So I tend to have a lot meat dishes etc for a sort of group meal. But to mark the day in a family sense and have a lot of fun, pull out all the old traditional games. Bobbing for apples and things like that, do the place up with a little halloween theme but slip in a few things that are specail to you.

You can even get the family (if they are willing) to help you make a specail place for a candle. Decorate it with whatever you want and say that its to honour those who are no longer here with us. Just a few basic ideas, but like I said, the games aspect, gods you can go on forever with that one lol

Come to think of it..............I need to start planning one myself

Actually this could be a good place to have a discussion about all of our ideas about this festival. Perhaps with all the feedback we can all have a broader idea of how we each celebrate and what the little differences and similarities we each have ;)

What do you say people, shall we discuss the ideas of what we believe Samhain?

In this post is where I discuss how I will be celebrating it as a family. Here you will get some ideas for the whole as a family; pagan or not pagan

I do hope that this day will mark a special blessing to you as it will your year and a day time. After it is all done you should maybe add a special cleansing and blessings of yourself in a special dedication or something.

Brightest Blessings!
