I love pumpkin seeds. You can eat them as a snack or use them in porridge and museli they're just nummy! Obviously after hallowe'en I have a bunch of the lovely little blighters but I don't know how to process them to make them munchable. :( Do I just bake them in the oven? Do I need to deep fry them? I just don't know. Please help.

Lots of love a hungry little Angelmouse.

When I was a kid and even sometimes now I just put them in the oven and bake them. I don't remember exactly the temperature or for how long. It's been awhile since we've done it.

I did a little research and while we never blanched them before roasting them, it sounds like the better way to do it. Here's the link. They sound YUMMY!

Hope this helps.

This was always a tradition at our house as a child as I was growing up (before my mother went all horribly christian...in the bad sense...on me).

We would carve our pumpkin.

Mom would always save our seeds. She would then literally pick out the seeds from the pulp one by one and then rinse them in water and then place them in pan of boiling water and oil to cleanse them. Once all of the stuff was off she would strain them from the pan.

Then she would place them on a cookie sheet and sprinkle them with salt and bake. after a bit she would flip and sprinkle again to get both sides baked abd browned. They were so good. Nice and warm. My mother used to do these good things for us when I was little. Loved it. It was these little things that I have passed down to my son.

You can even put on seasoned salt if you prefer over plain salt.Or if you if you like to spice things up add tobasco!

Brightest Blessings!
