I have one son and then I have a hubby  ; who on occasions acts like a child  . My son is 8 yrs. old this yr. and has taken an interest the past few years into the Ancient ways. I teach when he wants. I was just curious how many others out there are parents, soon to be parents or will be someday!

Brightest Blessings!

I had to vote :No, do not wish to have any.

I've just never felt the maternal yen that others seem to - never heard the biological tick of the clock. And of course, with just turning 30, I'm entering into the final decade or so... I just don't think it's going to happen.

I have no kids and don't wish to have any. My husband echoes that feeling. I am 39 (will be 40 this year). When I was told that I couldn't have kids, it was a relief for both of us. It saved us alot of money on birth control.

I get grief over my attitude but I am entitled to it. I believe that some of us are born to be mothers while others are not. I am the latter while a friend of mine is the former. She is great with kids.

is thats how you feel Lynx there is no helping it! i used to feel like that until i was told i couldnt have children! i guess being an aquarius its no good telling me i cant do something!!! any way i have verity and do plan for more!

going back to lynx yes your right! so are not meant to be mothers! i know a lady who only had a child to please her husband! she loves her child dont get me wrong and would never part with him but she was completly clueless and was one to happy for other people to see to him when he was born, i think if she could have a child that was born like a 6 year old she'd have more, she just dont do babys!

My not wanting children has really always been there, but society almost demands that girls/women should want children. I did the typical teenage thing of babysitting. I even worked for a church nursery caring for up to 20 children (birth to 2 yrs old). I was good at it because I am a caring person but it was just a job to me. I took in and raised my niece for 2yrs, but like my being a Christian at the time I was just going thru the motions. I don't feel maternal in anyway toward children. I never have. It is just the way I am. What really makes me different is the fact that I don't deny it anymore.

I believe that whether we want children or not is a personal matter. I just feel that whatever that decision is that it be respected and not challenged as being wrong.

i know what yu mean lynx and i hope you did not take offence by what i said! my sister isnt maternal and she has said she never will, its just society i guess and like you said people think its a girl/woman thing, people can be so judging! my sister was asked if there was something wrong with her not wanting children, and even asked if she was homosexual which i didnt quite understand, as i, in my personal opinion, dont see the problem with two gay men bringing up children!

what i'm getting at is we all need to live by and do what we believe is right for us in both body and mind and as long as your happy who cares!

it was a tough desission though to have a child i wondered what type of a world i was bringing them in to and what would she be going through in her 40s war? the green house effect? ecconomy? crime and murders? when i read the news sometimes i feel guilty it may not be my generation but hers, her children and grandchildren!

ok i guess i'm getting way to deep with this

hope you understand what i was trying to say! Anghy xx

I didn't take it the wrong way. I understood what you were saying. It is a very passionate topic for many people especially now with the woman in California who had 8 babies at once while the people of California were paying to support the children she already had. An outcry for limits on how many embryos can be implanted at one time has also come from this story. A friend underwent invertro and they only implanted two embryos. They reasons that if one died in the womb she would still have a baby. She ended up with two sets of identical twins. The embryos had split into two more. She had a very hard time with her pregnancy. She ended up having to stay in bed and they took the babies early. She said she just couldn’t imagine having more than she did at one time. They opted not to have anymore after their quads.
