Moon Phases

Postby Angelmouse on Tue Jan 22, 2008 9:01 pm

Hi Gang.

I realised something this evening that I don't think I'd really even thought about before and I wondered if anyone else has made this connection?

I always feel more energised around the time of the Full Moon! I was thinking that maybe it depends on when we were born, ie. what 'star sign' we are, as to what phase of the moon effects us the most? It could even be that everyone is effected the same way by each phase. But if different people are effected differently then how does that reflect on workings and spiritual rituals that incorporate the Moon?

Has anyone else had thoughts on this?

Please share as it's doing my head in.

Well the esbats jump to mind but in a general view I tend to feel more of a 'buzz' during the full moon. I think its those fertile energies that seem to linger around that time. I know that many say the new moon is the time for new ventures, but the full moon seems to be more the time for me.

I believe its that fertile element to it, that new birth waiting to occur.

It's that personal energy that I wonder about. Most people would assume that everyone loves the Summer see? but there are a few people that just don't find it appealing at all. So I thought if that's the case then why shouldn't people react differently to the Moon?

This is just one of the many many infuriating trains of thought I seem to be boarding at the moment and I've hit an uphill gradient of about 65% and my brain aches.

Having thought about this on and off for about a week I've come to the conclusion that it must depend on how sensitive to the Water elements you are.

The Moon is the gravitational force which governs the Water Element so it is bound to effect us physicaly, we all know the gruesome realities of ladies cycles.

This is the train of thought I hopped on: Womens menstrual cycles are governed by the Moon and yet everyone's is different, from their timing to their length and their symptoms (PMT etc.) This shows that the Moon effects peoples water content differently. That being the case would it not then follow that those people more attuned to the Element of water would in turn be affected by the Moons gravitational effects? Possibley preferring night time to day or Autumn to Summer.

Extrapolate that theory (such as it is :) ) to incorporate other elements; The Sun has more of a spiritual part to play in those to whom the Fire Element speaks.

It's a starting point at any rate. Anyone of any papers or literature on this? I'd be very interested to know and as ever, any thoughts, I feel very small and alone otherwise. :D
