Hi Lynx,
as has already been said, everyone is capable of sending energy/healing, but when it's giving your own energy I would advise that you be careful, it is not something you should do long term and have to give yourself time to recouperate afterwards, it is also important to use what ever shielding techniques/visualisations you know when doing this to protect yourself.
It is also important to listen to you intuition, never doubt yourself, if something feels right, then it probably is, is something feels wrong, then it probably is. You say you can feel the energy flow and feel tired afterwards, also you may pick up on other things, start to get sensations that are not yours (such as pain or feeling ill), just silently say to yourself that it is not yours and for it to go, or if you feel that you need to then break contact temporarily and then start again when/if you feel ready to do so.
If you feel any negativity or negative energy, then there is a 'bucket' technique you can use, where you are taking this negativity and then dumping it into this imaginary bucket where it can do no harm, but make sure that you cleanse the area afterwards too (what ever technique you use, smudging, insense etc)
As a Reiki practitioner I do not give my own energy, but act as a channel for the universal energy/chi/ki that is in and around everything to flow into the recipient, I also use techniques to protect myself before and during treatment and also cleanse afterwards. Reiki is just one of many many many techniques out there in the world that can be learned to transfer energy to someone, and I am sure that various members of the Oracle would be able to share techniques and advice with you.
hope this helps.
Gassho,
M
