Kids Craft - Hanging Ghost

Postby Cadno ap annwn on Sun Sep 30, 2007 1:02 am

Ok this is an idea I've adapted from all those kids art programs I've been watching lol.

You will need

1 bin bag (white)
Scissors
2 Brushes (you'll understand why later)
Sticky tape
PVA Glue
Card (cereal packets will do)
Tissue paper
White paint
Black marker pen
String

How to make

First take your card and cut it out into the shape below, the size is entirely up to you, you can make this as big or as small as you wish.

Now just take a little sticky tape and stick it together to form a nice cone shape (this will be the ghosts head).

Take your white bin bag and cut it into equal strips of around 2 foot (this is optional, you can have them any length). Put these aside for later use. Go back to your cone shape and mix up a half water, half pva mix. take your tissue paper and paste it onto the cone using the PVA mix and slowly build up around the cone until it is completely covered. This has the will provide you with a nice painting surface, just make sure the PVA is only sticking to the cone and not anything else ;)

Now when that is dry, take your little bin bag strips and slowly start sticking them with the tape to the inside of the cone. The aim is to have as many as possible dangling down from your cone. Once this is complete we move onto the fun part.

Paint Time!!!

Paint your cone white (or try something different), then once dry, use the marker pen to create s SPOOKY face on it. With that complete, all you need is a little string and a place to hang it. You can attatch the tape to the top of the cone any way you wish, I'm in the middle of making one now so I'll let you know what works best ;)

We would love to see pictures of it if that's possible! What a great kid's idea! Can't wait to hear how this turns out :D
