How to: Read the Tarot. Sylvia Abraham 2002
An in depth look at each card in the Rider / Waite deck along with their relationship to each other. It doesn’t shy away from the Kabbalistic meanings and symbolism but it doesn’t go into depth on the Kabbalah itself. This leaves the book slightly lacking in my opinion, but then, the Kabbalah is such a huge subject on it’s own that to attempt to include the Kabbalah in as much detail as Abraham has explored the each card, would make the work not only unwieldy, but perhaps confusing and unapproachable for the beginner. The book suggests some good classic layouts towards the end, making this a great work for the beginner to intermediate practitioner of tarot.
