Handmade robes.

I finally got the fabrics delivered to make my robes. I have a huge pile of beautiful green velvet in front of me and I have to be brave and make the first cut :shock:

I haven't done any dressmaking for a loooong time. I do have a sewing machine but I think my first set of robes really do need to be handstitched.

Any helpful hints? Any advice before i make that all important first cut?
