BOS for children

Postby Adarian on Sun Sep 16, 2007 1:08 pm

I have started this with my son as he is interested in Dragons, Faeries, Thor and the Goddess. I have made him a Book of Shadows just for him. He picked the colors and some pictures for it. It is real simple for him and we put in his entries when we do something or learns something new to enter.

Here is a picture of it:

This is his first entry in his BOS

This is his interpretation of The Goddess and The Earth.

Brightest Blessings!

Please share what you have made or if your child is old enough to make one on their own for a Book of Shadows.

Which goddess? Or a more generic goddess figure?
Interesting he wants to get to know Thor. It looks like a gorgeous treasure of a book. Your son is lucky to have you.

That picture I had read to him a story called; "Creation: A story for small children" By: Diane Baker. After I read it to him I wanted him to draw his version of what I read.

This is what he told me: The Goddess (who is to the right) protects everything from the Earth to the Stars. He did a rainbow form (using the colors of the elements; which I had never told him what colors they are) and the stars. In the center is where all of the Goddess's creatures and people are. They are protected by the colors and the stars.

I know it is hard to see the drawing a bit, but this is what he told me and I thought it was very good. I am very proud of him and how he is advancing. This work was done early this spring. I will have a new picture for you later.

(yes, it is a plain Goddess. He has no certain name for her like he does for his God...Thor.)

Brightest Blessings!

I'm not surprised you're proud, he sounds like an amazing little guy.

I love this idea, its educational as well as being fun for them. I bought my nephew a wizards handbook with little charms and spells involving soft drinks lol. It also has scrap book style pages to record his progress with the spells.

But this is so much more fun, something from stratch, I'm actually going to try it out on him ;)

Very cool, Cad. I actually bought my son this book too! He just won't get until his birthday 8) . Ia m also going to get him the Dragonology book as well. Do the BOS with him and have some of the things he likes. This way it is personalized for him :D .

Brightest Blessings!
