This childhood tale of the grasshopper that played throughout the year and never preparing for the cold hard winter that was to come and the ever hard working ant. Its a typical tale that I believe pagan's should pay attention to, for it is a reflection of much of what we do.
We work hard throughout the year, preparing for a time of year where we can reflect upon what has gone by. The harvest is about reaping what we sow, but if sow nothing, nothing is what we reap.
So maybe the old grasshopper and ant tale was there to teach our children the value of preparation, whether it was a farmers tale to help children know the values of hard work or even a tale inspired by pagan pasts. Its something worth noting
